Finally heading back again

I know there are some of you out there following that I don't know of so I wanted to put a post. I am finally returning to Kenya on March 23 through April 6 with a friend Sue that came with Fox River to Kenya last summer. We are both day care providers here in the states.


We will be visiting orphanages while we are there bringing gifts, crafts, and fun and most importantly God's love to hurting children. We are very excited about this! Thanks to all those in Kenya helping to set up these meetings for us before we get there.

We will also be hosting an adoption event for people that have already adopted children. We will also reaching out to the woman of our churches schools encouraging them to follow God's plans for their lives.

Finally we will be heading to Nairobi to visit with anyone we can that can help us further our mission of making adoption an easier process and also keeping kids safe in orphanages. We will be visiting orphanages while in Nairobi too and Kibera, the 2nd largest slum in Africa I believe.

We have been saving and collecting items for months and are hoping to keep our luggage under 50 lbs each! Or we will have to pay for extra luggage. We have lots of bibles, crafts, and children's books with the salvation message in them for the kids! I will update you again once we are there!

AFTER YEARS OF WORK, THINGS ARE COMING TOGETHER!

Saturday, March 31, 2012 Great start of the day with a run down to the beach.  I made good running time, and did it all by myself which is a miracle.  For those of you that don ’ t know, I HATE to run.  That is a whole different journey that God has me on, training for a half marathon.  I ’ ve always been a walking fan.  Walking is the same as running as long as you do it long enough was always my motto, but since I started running in December, I can honestly say that is definitely not true.  Running is so much more.  I hate it, but it is so much better for me than walking or any other type of exercise.  It is a great way to clear your head, tone your body, and increase your energy even if you are miserable even thinking about it!  When I got to the beach, looking out over the ocean there was a peace.  If God can take care of keeping the oceans where they need to be, He can take care of my small problems, even if they seem large to me ...

Hospitals are so sad Pray for cooperation from US EMbassy on Visa information

Tuesday, april 30, 2013 Today was exhausting but when we look back, we did not do a whole lot.  We started off going into the public hospital here in Mombasa, Coast General.  I hate hospitals even at home so this was outside my comfort zone totally. Judy was kind enough to get us into the Children's Ward and the Children's Cancer ward. She works with an organization called PACK that goes into the community to find kids that need the cancer treatments they focus on and brings them to the hospitals and pays for all the drugs.  The parents only need to pay for the bed in the hospitals and they work with them to try to reduce the rate for that. There was one little boy in there and he had a tumor in his right checks so bad that his eye was turned inside and you could only see white. It was 10X the size of the other check when he started treatment and he was through a few weeks of treatment already and it was reduced to maybe 4X the other check now. The ward beds were very...
