April 2013 trip itinerary


Lots of people have asked so here are the general details of our April trip.  Please pray for peace in Kenya and for Carrie Reichartz, Sue Heurta, and Laura Danbrea as we prepare and get all the funds and items we need to make this a success.  We are hoping to find help with out extra luggage fees which are $215 possibly X3 which is $645.   If you want to donate in box me.  Thanks for all your support and help.

ORPHANAGES AND SCHOOLS

April 21- SUNDAY–NAIROBI 
Atty Bobby – adoption law status 
Meet woman who does preg. Crises –JAYNE

Visit 2-3 Children’s Homes (orphanages)
Happy Life – Mirema & Kamitti Rds
New Life Trust Home- (by YaYa?)
Kenya Children’s home? (Former Thomas Barnardo House) See adoption facility list
Huruma Children’s Home – near Karen; Ngong Hills

April 22 – MONDAY - NAIROBI
Visit US Embassy  - pray for quick appt
support and assistance for adoptions;  international fostering
10:45 Elephant orphanage – double check feeding 11? 
Benta – HIV positive preschool – read books to the kids and leave the books with them.
Kibera – largest slum in Africa- do a Youtube search on it.  Maureen
Meet with Secretary of adoption – see where laws are at. (or on 5/3)
6:00 grab all luggage and head to airport
8:00pm – airport
MOMBASA – MONDAY NIGHT – unpack and organize; make list of what we need from Nakkumatt – oil, paper, paper plates, stapler, breakfasts

April 23 - TUESDAY
– HAVE FLYERS TO HAND OUT FOR SAT. RUN/WALK
- Neptune about Faraha – day on Wed. or Thurs.& what time is best
-Injillii and high school to meet with Allan
a. DONATE SOMETHING HERE – CASH FOOD??
b.  FIND TIME TO MEET WITH ALLAN
 c.  MEET WITH THE LADY WITH THE LAND;
    d.  Lady with pregnancy crises center in Nairobi and other meetings in Nairobi.
e.  Dinner with Eve and Allan – EVENING

-Rashid – money exchange;  CALL SOUTH COASAT 
- Get dinners from Lucy (Rashid’s wife)
-Nakkumatt– have everything for run walk ready 
-get papers need for OGH lawyer

-RUN WALK – meet with ladies organizing

April 24 WEDNESDAY

April 25 THURSDAY

2.   HAVE COMMITTEE MEETING AFTER FOR PREGNANCY CRISES CENTER
GOAL:
#1        Organize a committee–joy, dorcus, Jayne, et
#2        help with relationship with God
#3        Open a pregnancy crises center – determine the details of this
#4        Work with Peter to make sure his orphanage is funded to work out adoptions
3.  Visit with Peter again?

April 28, SUNDAY
1. Visit Injilii – Pastor Allan’s church
2. Crossroads – Nyali  church
3Vipingo for bible study  PRINCESS PARTY

AFTER YEARS OF WORK, THINGS ARE COMING TOGETHER!

Saturday, March 31, 2012 Great start of the day with a run down to the beach.  I made good running time, and did it all by myself which is a miracle.  For those of you that don ’ t know, I HATE to run.  That is a whole different journey that God has me on, training for a half marathon.  I ’ ve always been a walking fan.  Walking is the same as running as long as you do it long enough was always my motto, but since I started running in December, I can honestly say that is definitely not true.  Running is so much more.  I hate it, but it is so much better for me than walking or any other type of exercise.  It is a great way to clear your head, tone your body, and increase your energy even if you are miserable even thinking about it!  When I got to the beach, looking out over the ocean there was a peace.  If God can take care of keeping the oceans where they need to be, He can take care of my small problems, even if they seem large to me ...

TIME TO RECHARGE Sunday, June 24, 2012 Got up late, through was up at 5am originally, got out of bed at 8:15am.  Pam and I headed right down to the ocean with her journal and my morning readings.   Such a relaxing time and place with the Indian ocean being so beautiful and just awesome.  It ’ s high tide so can hear waves like you ’ re in the ocean. Then ate breakfast with the quieter part of the group which was nice.   Then off to church at Crossroads Nyali.   It is a church just like our church, Fox River in the states, contemporary through Fox River is at least 10 times louder with their music, it's not your normal church.  That was great to see lots and lots of people I knew there and to recharge.    ...
